Fabrication questions for makers.
- Can you laminate 12/4 black walnut blanks and carve two wave pedestals, each about 30 inches across the base, finishing every surface by gouge?
- Can you glue up a 96 × 42 inch top, 1¾ inches thick, from FAS quartersawn 8/4 walnut boards?
- Can you let a hidden steel rail into the top to tie together the two crests, which reach about 14 inches in from the centre line?
- Can you bolt the base on with removable hanger bolts, so the table comes apart into three pieces to move?
- Will you rough out the waves by CNC before carving, or by hand? The spec allows either.
